What problem are we solving and why?
We recognise the potential of web3 to revolutionise and drastically improve all aspects of the world. In this search for a better future, we can’t lose track or lose sight of the potential for web3 to cause (unnecessary) harm on people and planet in the name of experimentation and progress.
However:
- DAO Operators looking to reduce the negative impacts of their organisation don’t know where to start, who to turn to or which steps to take.
- Due to the quickly evolving space, initiatives that worked 1 year ago may not be relevant now (especially so in relation to technology)
- Positive impact is pushed lower in the list of priorities, especially during busy periods or growing pains.
- Conversations around potential positive or negative externalities arise during key decisions, but are not something consistently considered throughout the working week.
Job Stories
- When looking to improve my organisations positive impact, I want to be able to quickly understand which areas to focus, so I can invest time and resources into that particular area.
- When looking to learn more about impact, I want to be able to understand what other similar organisations are doing, so I can learn from their successful initiatives.
- When making operational decisions, I want to understand their impact, so I can minimize their negative externalities.
How will we measure success?
Add how we will determine whether the problem has being solved. Qualitative and quantitative measures.
- DAO Operators feel confident in the next steps they need to take to reduce negative impacts or create more positive impacts
- DAO Operators are aware of their organisations current status in relation to worst/best case scenarios.
- DAO Operators propose to invest more resources in initiatives that reduce negative externalities.
- Initiatives started by DAO Operators are successful.
- this means each initiative will perhaps need to have an ‘indicator of success’
Scope
Once high level product design is figured out, add the releases below, what is in scope and out of scope, and estimated dates for shipping to beta.
The Good Growth Playbook is an easy-to-read practical guide to good growth. It acts as the go-to-resource for DAO operators at decision points in both their formation and their growth journey.
